Services for students with special needs: Inclusive Higher Education & Universal Design for Learning

Teiresias – Masaryk University Support Centre for Students with Special Needs offers the topic “Inclusive Higher Education & Universal Design for Learning”. No registration fee. We can host up to 16 participants. 

Teiresias Centre - Support Centre for Students with Special Needs at Masaryk University would like to invite you to a week-long staff training on Inclusive Higher Education & Universal Design for Learning. Participants will be presented with the principles of universal design for learning as well as other approaches and good practices when it comes to building an inclusive environment at a higher education institution.

Staff week is open both to academics and non-academics interested in any of these topics: inclusive education, assistive technologies, inclusive mobility, support of students with special needs in the EU, the Czech Republic, services for students with dyslexia, psychological disorders, autism spectrum disorder, services for students with sensory impairment (visual, hearing, mobility), language courses for students with special needs, braille encoding, tactile printing, hybrid books, sign language in higher education, special math, etc.

There is no participation fee.

Technology Transfer Office
Dates: 3–6 June 2024 (4 working days)

The mission of Technology Transfer Office of Masaryk University is to help great ideas cross the borders of the university and put knowledge and technologies into practice.

We would like to invite you to the MUST Week, which will include introduction to aspects of technology transfer and its current challenges as well as sharing of experience and good practices. The programme also includes a tour of the university´s unique facilities and a discussion with a scientist seasoned in technology and knowledge transfer.

Participation fee of 200 EUR (due after acceptance into the mobility). The minimum number of participants is 10, with a maximum of 20 participants.

International Relations Offices

Dates: 10–14 June 2024

(under Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme)

Masaryk University welcomes up to 40 colleagues from partner universities to participate in a Staff Training Week focused on international relations.

Main topics: Erasmus+ projects (incoming and outgoing students, a new form of mobilities, round tables), European Alliances, international marketing. Some of these topics will take the form of presentations, and some of them will take the form of group discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to network with colleagues from partner institutions from European and non-European countries. MUST Week will be part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) which may result in registration with your home university.

There is no participation fee.

Research Managers and Administrators

Dates: 17–21 June 2024

Research management services are an important facilitator of the success of MU in R&I. The MUST Week will be a tour of central services that are essential for development of excellent research at universities and other research institutions: grant support, research evaluation, and management of research infrastructures. It is a week of intense knowledge exchange with spotlight on good practice examples from MUNI, but co-created by all participants.

Libraries  

Dates: 2–6 September 2024
Application deadline: 29 February 2024

MUNI Libraries offer a five-day programme for academic librarians interested in understanding the needs and behaviour of their users. No prior knowledge is required, only the willingness to share experience and learn from others. The programme will consist of lectures, best practice presentations, and workshops. Open for up to 20 participants. There is EUR 100 registration fee due after acceptance into the mobility.

Application Process

FOR applicants from Erasmus+ programme countries: the application form is available online here. Please select MUST week as a mobility programme and select the right target group for you in the application process.

All applicants will be informed via e-mail by about two weeks after the deadline whether their MUST application has been approved and they can join the event. (Then we are going to confirm your Training Agreement – the Erasmus code of Masaryk University is CZ BRNO05).
