June 08–12, 2026 – Sport and society: Issues and impact of the organisation of sports practices and events
This summer school is an opportunity for PhD and Master students to better understand the implications of sport in society, based on research currently being carried out in different EDUC Alliance countries, and to examine methodological issues from an intercultural perspective. The lectures will focus on four specific themes: the social condition of top-level athletes; ethical issues; discrimination; and the organization of major sporting events.
The online part will take place in April 2026, and the physical mobility in June 2026.
The preliminary program includes:
- 5-minute presentation of thesis or dissertation by participants
- Escape game and sports practices at Nanterre's sports facilities
- Visit to a sports complex
- Co-development workshops and plenary presentations
- Participation in a Nanterre basketball team match
