From June 16 to 19, 2025, the University of Rennes hosted the International Education Week, an initiative by the European EDUC Alliance. Dedicated to the internationalisation of education, this week brought together over 80 teachers, educational staff, and experts, both in person and online, from the Alliance's eight partner universities in a spirit of exchange and collaboration.
A unique opportunity for teachers and educational staff
The International Education Week provided a dynamic and inspiring platform to explore innovative approaches, share experiences, and foster connections among European colleagues. Open to all profiles and disciplines, the event welcomed both beginners and experienced professionals to discover simple and flexible solutions for integrating international perspectives into their teaching.
Diverse and enriching workshops
The week featured several key moments:
- Higher education in the age of AI: Exploring pedagogical transformations driven by artificial intelligence.
- Internationalisation: from courses to programmes: Practical ideas for embedding international dimensions into curricula.
- Building international partnerships: Tools and strategies for establishing sustainable collaborations.
- Assessment in the era of generative AI: Critical reflections on evaluation methods in a digital context.
- Advancing internationalisation with Moodle: Showcasing digital tools to enhance student interaction and pedagogical collaboration.
- A positive and promising outcome
This week strengthened the ties within the EDUC community and laid the foundation for new joint projects. Feedback from participants highlighted the quality of the sessions, the richness of the discussions, and the relevance of the topics addressing internationalisation. Participants noted the growing demand among new generations for diverse learning experiences, particularly those with an international dimension.
The International Education Week once again demonstrated EDUC’s commitment to a more integrated, inclusive, and forward-looking European university landscape.
A heartfelt thank you to all participants, speakers, and organisers for making this event a success!
EDUC will organise two new editions of the Education Week at other partner sites. We look forward to the next edition, where new ideas, collaborations, and discoveries will continue to enrich our academic community.
